FSU researchers receive $3M to create national repository for data on learning disabilities
The federal government will award nearly $3 million over five years to researchers at Florida State University, so they can build a first-of-its-kind national data repository that aims to inspire innovative research that helps children with learning disabilities.

Dr. Richard Wagner Speaks in LA
Dr. Richard Wagner was invited to give an update on dyslexia and the new NICHD Centers to school psychology administrators and other members of the leadership team of the Los Angles Unified School District on October 27, 2017. They have asked him to come back and present to their entire school psychology staff.

Young-Suk Kim
As part of the American Educational Research Association’s Centennial year programming, AERA invited Professor Young-Suk Kim to deliver an Ed-Talk in Washington, D.C., earlier this year. The 7-minute video of her talk - "Oral Language Begets Literacy - is now available on YouTube. The related fact sheet can be accessed here. Professor Kim's presentation is one of 31 Ed-Talk videos released by AERA that are designed to convey key research findings. The videos, each approximately six minutes in length, feature leading education scholars discussing cutting-edge research on a range of important education and learning issues.
Received the 2016 Robert M. Gagné Outstanding Faculty Research Award. This award honors Robert M. Gagné’s research legacy and the spirit of mentoring with which he worked with students and faculty colleagues.

FLDRC graduate students have the opportunity for presentations and discussion with Dr. Charles Perfetti. After Dr. Perfetti’s brown bag lunch with FCRR, he met with the FLDRC faculty and staff. Four of the graduate students presented.
